MINNEAPOLIS - Senior Gopher men's swimmer Bar Soloveychik has been named an Academic All-American, as announced by the College Sports Communicators on Wednesday. The 2025 Academic All-American Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
Soloveychik was named Third Team Academic All-American for the second time of his career, after earning the honor last season. He has also earned CSC All-District honors in back-to-back years.
To be considered for a CSC Academic All-America Team, nominees must meet the following criteria:
- A student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
- A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
- Eligible individuals need to compete in four competitions OR finish top eight at a conference meet.
Nominations are limited to four student-athletes per institution for both men's and women's teams. Student-athletes who are nominated are then evaluated by a sub-committee to determine if they can advance to the Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America nominees are then voted on by the CSC members.
