Gophers Begin 2025-26 Hosting Tournament in Independence

INDEPENDENCE, Minn. - Minnesota men's golf opens the 2025-26 season hosting the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn. The event kicks off Sunday, September 7 with the first two rounds and continues on Monday, September 8. The first round will start at 7:15 a.m. with the second round commencing immediately after.
Head Coach Justin Smith will begin his seventh season with the Gophers. This upcoming season will be his first after signing a three-year contract extension back in May.

The Field:
Fifteen teams will compete over the next two days. Including the Gophers, other B1G teams are Nebraska, Rutgers, and Wisconsin. Other teams competing include Furman, Iowa State, Little Rock, Louisville, Marquette, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, South Carolina, St. Thomas, Texas A&M, and West Virginia.
Gophers' Lineup:
Sophomores Chun-Ta Wu and Jack Crousore, freshmen Joe Honsa and Torger Ohe, and senior Cormac Sharpe will be competing in team competition. Honsa and Ohe will be making their Gopher debuts. Senior Jack Wetzel, sophomore Ryan Stendahl, and junior Kyler Schwamb will participate as individuals.
The Course:
The 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational will take place at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence. The course opened in 2003 with a par 71 that spans 7,464 yards throughout.
