MINNEAPOLIS – Senior forward Josefin Bouveng is set to make her second Olympic appearance for Sweden after being selected to the country's roster for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan, Italy.
Bouveng remains the lone Swedish Olympian in program history after becoming the first Golden Gopher to represent Sweden at the Olympic Games during the 2022 Beijing Olympics. She scored her first Olympic goal in Beijing, where Sweden finished eighth overall.
A familiar face on the Swedish national team, Bouveng tallied two goals and three assists in six games at the 2025 IIHF Women's World Championships. She also posted four goals and one assist during the 2024 IIHF Women's World Championships.
The Swedish Women's Olympic Hockey Team has competed in every Winter Olympic Games since the inaugural women's ice hockey tournament in 1998, earning a bronze medal in 2002 and a silver medal in 2006. Bouveng will look to help guide Sweden back into medal contention in Milan.
Sweden will compete in the 2026 Milan Winter Olympic Games from Feb. 5–22, 2026, alongside nine other nations. The Swedes will skate in Group B with Japan, Germany, Italy, and France. Sweden will open Olympic play on Thursday, Feb. 5, against Germany at 5:10 a.m. CT.
