Minnesota Tied for 14th after 36 Holes at Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, P.R. – The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished rounds one and two of the Puerto Rico Classic tied for 14th place Sunday. The Golden Gophers carded a team score of 364 (E) during round one and 369 (+4) in the second round at the Grand Reserve Golf Course.
Reese McCauley led the Gophers individually with a 1-under-par 71 in round one. She made 15 pars and finished the round in 28th place.
Luisamariana Mesones carded a bogey-free 5-under-par 67 during round two to move up to 8th place. She finished the round with five birdies.
Arkansas sits in first place with a team score of 345 (-22) after round two.
Notable:
Junior Luisamariana Mesones closed the first round at even par (72). She was in 35th place after snagging five birdies. After round two, she moved up to 8th place with a score of 67.
Senior Isabella McCauley ended the first 18 holes in 50th place after meeting par 14 times for an even-par score of 72. After 36 holes, she remained even for the tournament with another 72.
Olivia Deakins is in 67th place after shooting a round one 2-over-par 74. The senior finished 7-over-par with a score of 79 in the final round of the day.
Sophomore Reese McCauley finished 2-over-par after the second round, carding a 75.
Senior Madison Le posted a 3-over-par 75 to close out the first round in 74th. After round two, Le sits at 91st following a score of 77.

The third and final round of the Puerto Rico Classic will take place Feb. 2. It is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. CT with live results available via Scoreboard by Clippd.
