Ostrum Wins Big Ten Freshman of the Week Once Again

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Gophers freshman Arianna Ostrum was named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference announced today.
Ostrum tied for the meet title with a 49.450 all-around score on Friday at No. 18 North Carolina. The all-around score was the third-best all-around tally of her career and was her second straight all-around event title. Took second in the meet on vault (9.875) and floor (9.900). She led Minnesota on the floor during the meet and posted her fourth score of 9.900-or-higher. Earned a 9.825 on bars and a 9.850 on balance beam.
Ostrum won Big Ten Co-Gymnast and Freshman of the Week last week. She leads Minnesota with nine total event titles, including two on all-around, three each on vault and floor and one on bars.
No. 13 Minnesota (9-4, 7-2 B1G) is back in action Sunday for senior day at Maturi Pavilion. The meet will take place at 2 p.m. CT on B1G+.
