Minnesota Concludes Day One in 12th Place at Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The University of Minnesota men's golf team sits in 12th place after the first two rounds of the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate on Monday.
The Golden Gophers finished with an overall score of 5-over-par. They shot 2-over-par (290) during the first round and 3-over-par (291) in the second round.
Nebraska sits in first place with a score of 13-under-par. Emil Riegger of Maryland finished in first among the field with a score of 9-under-par.
Notable Performances:
Sophomore Chun-Ta Wu led Minnesota with a score of 2-under-par, tallying five birdies. He opened the tournament with his fifth eagle of the season, helping him finish the first round with a score of 1-under-par (71). Wu has finished under par in nine of his last 14 rounds, going back to the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 19-20, 2025). He is tied for 17th place among all golfers.
Freshman Torger Ohe shot 1-over-par (73) during the second round, finishing the day even. He accumulated four birdies in the first two rounds, tying for 27th overall.
Sophomore Jack Crousore returned to action with a score of 5-over-par. He concluded the day with a second-round score of 1-over-par (71), tying for 54th place.
Senior Cormac Sharpe collected eight birdies on the day, tying for 58th place with a score of 6-over-par. He shot 2-over-par (74) during the second round.
Freshman Joe Honsa tied Sharpe with a score of 6-over-par. He shot even (72) during the first round, picking up his fourth eagle of the season on the 14th hole. He gathered six birdies through the first 36 holes of golf.
Senior Jack Wetzel registered a mark of 1-over-par as an individual. He recorded four birdies in the first and second rounds, totaling eight on the day.
Sophomore Ryan Stendahl participated in his first tournament since the Badger Invitational (Sept. 22-23, 2025), penciling a score of 4-over-par with two birdies as an individual. He finished the first and second rounds with a score of 2-over-par (74), assembling four-straight rounds with this mark.
