Senior Isabella McCauley Sits in 1st Place After Two Rounds
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished rounds one and two of the Boilermaker Spring classic in fourth place Sunday. The Golden Gophers carded a team score of 306 (+18) in the first round followed by a 294 (+6) during the second at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ind.
Senior Isabella McCauley leads the Maroon and Gold after moving up four places to close out rounds one and two in first place. She carded a 4-under-par finish through 36 holes to lead the field by one stroke.
Purdue sits in first place with a team score of 289-293—582 (+6) after 36 holes of play.
Notable:
Isabella McCauley closed out play in first place after day one. The senior carded a 72 (E) in the first round followed by a 68 (-4) in the second. She secured nine birdies through 36 holes to end the day 4-under-par.
Junior Luisamariana Mesones carded a 73 (+1) during the first round followed by a 1-under-par 70 in the second round. Mesones met par twelve times in the second round highlighted by four birdies to end the day in fourth place.
Senior Olivia Deakins sits tied for 63rd place after carding an 80 (+8) in round one and a 78 (+6) in round two. She met par ten times in the second round.
Reese McCauley posted a 22-over-par score after 36 holes. The sophomore carded an 83 (+11) in both round one and two. She rounded out play in 88th place.
