Two-year Maroon and Gold captain

MINNEAPOLIS - Manon Field, a 2026 graduate from the University of Minnesota rowing team, was recently selected to represent Switzerland at the upcoming U23 World Championships in Duisburg, Germany, it was announced by the Swiss rowing selection committee.

Field is one of seven females and 12 males chosen to race at the Wedau Regatta Course from July 23-26 and will be part of the Women's coxless four at the international event. She is competing through the Belvoir Rowing Club Zurich.

"I'm so excited for Manon to continue her rowing career representing Switzerland," head coach Alicea Strodel said. "She has worked diligently to advance herself from a true novice to racing internationally at the World Championship! Manon is, and has been, an inspiration to all of us, but especially the young athletes who learn to row here."

A two-year captain for the Golden Gophers, Field established herself as one of the program's top performers, earning Big Ten Conference recognition in back-to-back seasons, landing on the All-B1G First Team in 2025 and All-B1G Second Team in 2026. She earned B1G Boat of the Week honors three times and helped lead Minnesota to 13 race victories during her collegiate career, while consistently competing at the highest level against some of the nation's top programs.

During her final season, the Hudson, Wis., native raced in all six regattas and closed her career in impressive fashion, earning victories in three of her final four races. She helped power the First Varsity Eight crew to a victory in the Petite Final at the B1G Championship and was part of a memorable performance at Minnesota's first home regatta in a decade, sweeping both the heats and finals against rivals Iowa, Wisconsin, and Kansas at the Twin Cities 2K.
