2017-18 | SENIOR Big Ten Sportsmanship Award · CRCA Scholar Athlete Award recipient · Academic All-Big Ten · competed in the 2V8 at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, the Doc Hosea Invitational, the Clemson Invitational, and the Big Ten Championships · earned a first place finish of 6:17.921 at the Cardinal Invite · posted a season-best time of 6:10.78 at the Clemson Invite.
2016-17 | JUNIOR Academic All-Big Ten Selection and received Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award • placed First in Varsity 4+ and Third in Varsity 8+ at Head of the Mississippi (10/01) • competed in the 2V8 at Cardinal Invitational (3/11), 2V8 at Big Ten Double Duel (4/8), 2V8 at Clemson Invitational (4/22-4/23) and 2V8 at Big Ten Championships (5/14) during the spring season.
2015-16 | SOPHOMORE Academic All-Big Ten selection and CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award winner • finished eight in Varsity 4+ at the Head of the Des Moines (9/26) • competed with the Second Varsity Eight and earned a pair of first place and a second place finish (3/13) • claimed two first place finishes with the Second Varsity Eight at the Doc Hosea Invitational (4/2-4/3) • earned a pair of first place finishes with the Second Varsity Eight vs. Iowa and Indiana (4/9) • earned two second place finishes at Wisconsin with the Second Varsity Eight (4/23) • finished second with the Second Varsity Eight at the Border Battle Regatta (5/1) • placed sixth with the Second Varsity Eight at Big Ten Championships (5/15).
2014-15 | FRESHMAN Competed on the Novice Team • rowed 2N8 at Head of the Mississippi (10/3) and San Diego Crew Classic (3/28 & 29) • continued to row with 2N8 at the Big Ten Double Dual where Minnesota swept Rutgers (4/11) • compted with 3V4 at Devil's Lake Challenge (5/2) and the Big Ten Championships (5/16) where the boat placed fourth.
HIGH SCHOOL Graduated Salutatorian from Luther High School in 2014 • member of National Honor Society • named third team All-State and first team All-Conference in softball • earned varsity letters in fast-pitch softball and robotics.

PERSONAL Born Emily Ann Appold on January 1, 1996 to parents Joel and Patti Appold • has one brother, Andrew • majoring in Kinesiology • completed 10 years of Martial Arts ending as a third degree black belt • outside interests include being outside, spending time with friends, family and her dog, drawing, painting, training for and running triathlons, and coaching softball • plans to major in kinesiology at Minnesota.
