Spun a 7-3 record while competing in four tournaments as a sophomore • Went 1-1 at Bison Open (11/10) while splitting matches with Gopher teammates Justin Bronson and Christopher McPhail • Finished with 1-2 record at Kaufman-Brand Open • Pinned Erik Rogness of St. Cloud State (5:25) and Dan Manley of Augsberg (4:30) in his only two matches at Worthington Open ( 1/19) • Won all three of his matches en route to a second place finish at North Country Tournament (2/9) • Went 3-1 in four matches that were decided by a single point • Seven of his 10 matches were decided by three points or less • Ended his season on a five-match winning streak that included three pins.

A rare freshman under head coach J Robinson that did not redshirt • finished with an overall record of 10-11 in three tournaments, the National Duals and four Big Ten duals • took second place at Bison Open (11/11), winning first three matches (including one pin) before falling to NDSU[apos]s Jake Bryce in the finals • went 4-2 and finished in fourth place at Kaufman-Brand Open (11/18), notching two pins and a major decision • went 2-2 at Husky Open (12/9) • earned first dual meet win in first career varsity match, topping Cornell[apos]s Carl Landers at National Duals (1/13) 3-2 • avoided allowing bonus points in match with top-ranked Max Askren of Missouri at National Duals, helping Gophers gain the team title • wrestled against six top-20 wrestlers at 197 pounds, including top-ranked Askren and third-ranked Phil Davis (Penn State) • finished with five pins and a major decision on the season • earned first letter.
