2023 | SUMMER Played 13 games for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod League · hit .500 with 23 hits, four doubles, 13 RBI and six runs scored · went 4-for-4 on June 20 with two RBI in a 3-0 win over Bourne.
2023 | JUNIOR Bateman started in 48 of the 50 games he played in, slashing .354/.407/.450 with 67 hits, 29 runs scored and 12 RBI · he stole a team-best 17 bases, which ranked sixth in the Big Ten · he ranked eighth with his .354 batting average · his 1.000 fielding percentage and four outfield assists were both team-bests. Game Highlights: Went 4-for-5 with a double and two runs vs. Oregon State (Feb. 18) · tallied two hits in four at-bats with a double and a walk vs. SLU (Feb. 25) · went 2-for-4 vs. SDSU with an RBI (March 8) · went 6-for-9 with two RBI in the final two games of the Ohio State series (April 1-2) · tallied a 3-for-5 outing in a win over Purdue (April 9) · totaled two hits in five at-bats in a win over Iowa (April 14) · went 3-for-4 with three runs scored in a win at Nebraska (April 28) · posted two hits and scored a run at NU (April 30) · posted two hits at No. 19 Maryland (May 13) · registered his 21st multi-hit game of the season at Maryland (May 14) · had his fifth three-hit game of the season vs. SDSU, also hitting a two-run double (May 16) · went 3-for-3 with a run scored in a win over Rutgers (May 18) · totaled three more hits, including a double, with two runs scored in a comeback win over Rutgers (May 19) · finished the season tallying multiple hits in six of the final seven games, including six three-hit games.
2022 | SUMMER Hit .330 with one home run, 17 RBI, 42 runs scored and 61 hits · played in 54 games for the Wilmar Stingers, which was a team-high · posted a .989 fielding percentage with five assists and 87 putouts and just one error · one of the highlights of his summer was a 6-for-7 outing at the plate in a 21-14 win over the Mankato MoonDogs on Aug. 4 · capped the year with a 4-for-5 performance at the plate with a triple against Duluth.
2022 | SOPHOMORE Bateman was the only Gopher to start in all 52 games · slashed .312/.363/.386 in 215 at bats (team-high) with 67 hits (team-high), 39 runs scored (tied for team-best), seven doubles and 13 RBI · tallied 19 multi-hit games and hit safely in 14 straight games from April 8 through April 29 · ranked seventh in the Big Ten and first on the team with 21 stolen bases. Game Highlights: Went 3-for-4 with a double and run scored in a win over Northeastern (Feb. 25) · ripped three hits with an RBI and a run scored in a win over Kansas (March 5) · tallied two hits, four runs, and RBI and two walks in a win over WIU (March 25) · totaled two hits, two runs and a double in a victory against PSU (April 22) · stole two bases and had three hits with two runs scored in a win over UST (April 27) · racked up four straight multi-hit games to end the season with three RBI and three runs scored.
2021 | SUMMER Played in four games for the Willmar Stingers, hitting .353 in 17 at-bats · his best game came on June 5 when he went 3-for-5 with an RBI in a 9-0 win · also made two appearances on the mound, striking out two in one total inning pitched.
2021 | FRESHMAN Played in 26 games, making 20 starts as a true freshman in 2021 · slashed .250/.345/.316 in 76 at bats with 19 hits, 12 runs scored, five doubles and five RBI · pitched one third of an inning and gave up four runs in a loss to Rutgers. Game Highlights: Tallied three hits in four at bats with a walk, three RBI and a run scored in a win over Michigan State (April 3) · the next day against MSU, Bateman went 4-for-5 with a double and a run scored · posted a two-hit game in a loss to Iowa (April 9) · collected a pair of hits, including a double, against Maryland (May 2) · came off the bench and tallied a hit with an RBI and a run scored in a win over Purdue (May 23).
2020 | SUMMER Played for the Lyons Pub Warriors of the Minnesota Class A Amateur Baseball Association · appeared in 21 games and batted .712 (37-for-52) with three doubles, 11 RBI, five walks and eight steals · struck out just two times all summer long.
BEFORE MINNESOTA A 2020 graduate of Mounds View High School · three-year starter in centerfield for Mounds View while performing as a two-way player · Prep Baseball Report’s No. 1 outfielder and No. 6 overall player in Minnesota · 2019 Pioneer Press Player of the Year Finalist · named All-Section, Suburban East All-Conference, All-Area and Star Tribune All-Metro Second Team in 2019 · led the state with a .484 batting average and 44 hits as a junior · also set a program record with a 0.38 ERA in 18 innings pitched to go along with 26 strikeouts in 2019 · batted .468 over the previous two high school seasons with 73 hits, 84 total bases, 50 runs and 18 stolen bases · 2018 All-Section and Suburban East All-Conference Honorable Mention · helped Mounds View capture the Section 5AAAA title and reach the 2018 Minnesota State HS Tournament as a sophomore · also competed for Tri-City American Legion, where he was named team MVP and runner-up for the Fourth District MVP during the summer of 2019 · five-time academic award winner in baseball, basketball and soccer.

WHY MINNESOTA "I chose the University of Minnesota because it's home for me. I've grown up a fan of all Minnesota sports. From the Twins to the Wild, Minnesota has always been in my blood. The campus is unbelievable and it felt like home to me. I've always wanted to represent my state and play close to my family. At Minnesota, I can do both. The coaching staff is unbelievable and the tradition at the U of M is like no other."
