Scott McWilliams joined the University of Minnesota Athletic Performance Department in 2016 as an Assistant Director of Athletic Performance and works with the Wrestling and Baseball programs in addition to overseeing the AP Department's Internship Program.
McWilliams attended University of Wisconsin-Platteville and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in 2010. Upon graduation, he joined the staff at UM-Platteville as an Assistant Sports Performance Director and Assistant Wrestling Coach. He programmed training for Wrestling, Volleyball, Softball, Men’s & Women’s Soccer and Men’s & Women’s Basketball. Scott also assisted Head Sports Performance Director Jason Wagner with Football as needed. He completed his graduate education at Appalachian State University in 2015 with a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science. While there, he was a Strength & Conditioning Intern working with the Mountaineer’s Football and Wrestling programs. McWilliams spend the summer of 2015 as an Intern at Penn State University assisting with Men’s & Women’s Track, Men’s & Women’s Hockey, Volleyball and Football.
McWilliams has spent time working in MLB Minor League Baseball where he led Strength & Conditioning efforts for the Arizona League Cincinnati Reds.
Scott is Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Beth, and two bonus children, Hudson and Hadley.
