2017 - SENIOR SEASON: Played in all 12 games - recorded 10 tackles including 1.5 for a loss, recovered one fumble and blocked one extra point - received the team's Butch Nash Award (competitive on the field and in the classroom) - Academic All-Big Ten. Game-by-game: Saw action against Buffalo and Oregon State - recorded a sack for a loss of four yards against Middle Tennessee - saw action against Maryland - notched two tackles and recovered one fumble against Purdue - made one tackle against Michigan State - saw action against Illinois and Iowa - recorded one tackle against Michigan - registered two tackles including half a sack against Nebraska - blocked an extra point at Northwestern, broke up one pass and made three tackles - competed against Wisconsin.
2016 - JUNIOR SEASON: Played in 13 games and started five - made 18 tackles, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and broke up one pass - Academic All-Big Ten. Game-by-Game: Made two tackles and had one sack against Oregon State - had two tackles against Indiana State - tallied two tackles against Colorado State - registered one tackle for a loss at Penn State - recorded three tackles against Iowa - notched three tackles at Maryland - competed against Rutgers and Illinois - notched one tackle for a loss against Purdue - broke up one pass and had one tackle at Nebraska - registered one tackle against Northwestern - tallied two tackles at Wisconsin - competed against Washington State.
2015 - SOPHOMORE SEASON: Played in 13 games and started seven - made 26 tackles (13 solo), including 1.0 tackle-for-loss - Academic All-Big Ten. Game-by-Game: Saw action against TCU, but did not record any statistics - registered three tackles at Colorado State - competed versus Kent State, but did not record a statistic - tallied two tackles against Ohio - recorded three tackles at Northwestern - tallied a solo tackle at Purdue - registered a tackle versus Nebraska - notched two tackles, including .5 tackle-for-loss, against Michigan - started and tallied a tackle at Ohio State - registered a career-high five tackles, including .5 tackle-for-loss, at Iowa - started and made a tackle along the defensive front versus Illinois - notched four tackles against Wisconsin - started and recorded three tackles versus Central Michigan.
2014 - FRESHMAN SEASON: Played in 12 games and recorded three tackles. Game-by-Game: Made his Minnesota and collegiate debut against Eastern Illinois, but did not record any statistics - assisted on three tackles against Middle Tennessee - played in the next 10 games: at TCU, against San Jose State at Michigan, against Northwestern and Purdue, at Illinois, against Iowa and Ohio State, at Nebraska and against Missouri.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Owatonna High School - helped team finish 13-0 and led Huskies to their first state championship, beating Brainerd in the 2013 Class 5A final - previously made a Prep Bowl appearance in 2012, as team finished 12-1 - named first team All-State by the Minnesota Associated Press as a junior and a senior - made 58 tackles and recovered two fumbles as a senior, as he was named to the Owatonna People's Press 2013 All-Area Team - set a school record with 12 sacks as a junior as he was named Owatonna People's Press Player of the Year - is Owatonna's career sack leader - coached by Jeff Williams - also lettered in basketball and track and field - received a three-star rating from ESPN, Rivals, 247Sports and Scout - ranked as the No. 4 recruit in Minnesota by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports - 247Sports listsed him as the 38th-best strong-side defensive end, while ESPN ranked him as the No. 82 defensive end in his class.
