2015 • SENIOR SEASON: Started the first five games of the season at center and then missed the final eight games with an injury • team was 3-2 with him as starting center • Academic All-Big Ten. Game-by-Game: Started at center against TCU and protected for an offense that passed for 197 yards and rushed for 144 yards • blocked for an offense that passed for 233 yards and rushed for 180 yards at Colorado State • against Kent State, protected for an offense that gained 288 yards • protected for an offense that generated 468 total yards (204 rushing and 264 passing) against Ohio • started at Northwestern.
2014 • JUNIOR SEASON: Made his Minnesota debut and played in his first collegiate game since 2011 as a reserve against Eastern Illinois • saw action against San Jose State and Northwestern • Academic All-Big Ten.
2013: Did not see game action due to a medical situation.
2012 • SOPHOMORE SEASON: Practiced with the team but could not compete due to NCAA transfer regulations.
2011 • FRESHMAN SEASON: Lettered at Ohio State, while playing in a couple early season games • decided to transfer to Minnesota following the 2011 season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Skilled offensive lineman who was a three-year starter for Coach Mike Donatucci at Palatine's Fremd High • U.S. Army All-American Bowl • Parade, RivalsHigh and Scout.com All-America • first team all-state from Chicago Tribune, Champaign News Gazette, Rivals, Daily Herald • Chicago Sun-Times all-area and Daily Herald all-area • Daily Herald Cook County 2010-11 Athlete of the Year • conference champion in shot put and discus • honor roll.
PERSONAL: Born March 29, 1993 • son of Jeff and Terri Bobek • father played linebacker at Iowa and mother played women's basketball for the Hawkeyes • brother Jeff played fullback at Michigan State • has already earned his degree in business and marketing education • working on his master's degree in applied kinesiology: sport management.
