Kody Schutzman
Kody Schutzman joined the University of Minnesota football staff in May 2022 and has served in a number of different roles on the defensive side of the ball. He was started as a Defensive Assistant, was promoted to Defensive Analyst in January 2025 amd was promoted to Defensive Quality Control in February 2026. 

In 2025, the Minnesota defense tied for sixth in the nation with 3.0 sacks per game and the team's 39 sacks (11 more than the team's 28 in 2024) were the most by a Minnesota defense since the team set a school record with 45 in 1999. Minnesota also ranked 11th in the nation with 7.1 tackles for loss per game.

In his previous role as a Defensive Assistant at Minnesota, he assisted with opponent film breakdown, provided information and reports that assisted the defensive coaching staff and worked with quality control. 

Schutzman also provided information to help prepare Minnesota’s scout team prepare for daily practices and worked with the equipment staff to ensure efficient, effective and safe drills for the linebackers and defensive line. 

Prior to Minnesota, Schutzman worked at Darien High School in Connecticut and was the offensive coordinator for the freshman team and an assistant for the varsity team. 

Schutzman graduated from Central Connecticut State University in December 2021 with a degree in elementary education. 

While in college he was a student assistant with the football team where he broke down film and charted plays and helped set up equipment for practices. He worked closely with members of the defensive staff and assisted in the recruiting process during the off-season.
