2023-24 Freshman Season: Big Ten Freshman of the Week (Jan. 10)... Big Tens: finished 17th in the 200 back (1:44.07), 21st in the 100 fly (47.32) and 25th in the 100 back (47.59)... First Chance Meet: came in third in the 200 back (1:45.86)... Purdue/Northwestern Tri-Dual: placed ninth in the 200 free (1:39.51)... Pitt Dual: captured third in the 100 fly (48.98) and fourth in the 100 back (49.74)... Tampa Dual: won the 100 back (50.47) and came in third in the 100 fly (49.95)... Minnesota Invite: finished 17th in the 200 back (1:47.30) and 22nd in the 100 back (48.75)... Wisconsin Dual: got fifth in the 200 back (1:49.79) and sixth in the 100 back (49.84)... St. Thomas/South Dakota State Tri-Dual: won both the 100 back (50.00) and 100 fly (49.53)... SMU Dual: came in fourth in the 200 back (1:48.14) and eighth in the 200 free (1:41.74)... High School: Attended Linn-Mar High School in Marion, IowaĀ Ā· reached All-American status in the 400 relay and 100 freeĀ Ā· raced the 200 backstroke finals at Winter Juniors.
Personal: Son of KellettĀ and Randy SteffenĀ Ā· has two sisters, Jayden and Elyah, and one brother, MalachiĀ Ā· hobbies include listening to music, spending time with friends, watching movies and playing video games.
Why Minnesota? I chose Minnesota because of the amazing team and coaches that Minnesota has. I clicked with all my teammates and coaches very quickly and had an awesome vibe from them overall. The campus is also a reason I chose the U. The proximity of the buildings and facilities is really nice and one of the best I have seen for such a big school.
