2023-24 Freshman Season: Won Most Outstanding Student-Athlete Award with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher at the team banquet⦠Minnesota First Chance Meet: Earned second in the 50 free (20.31) and in the 100 free (44.94) for a personal best⦠Purdue/Northwestern Tri-Dual: Finished sixth in the 50 free (20.54) and in ninth during the 100 free (45.49)... Pitt Dual: Placed in seventh (21.60) and third (23.84) in the 50 frees while also placing seventh in the 100 free (47.23)... Tampa Dual: Earned eighth in the 50 free (20.87) and in the 100 free (46.51)... Minnesota Invitational: Placed 29th in the 100 free prelims (45.22), 27th in the 100 fly prelims (49.84), and 25th in the 50 free prelims (20.39)... Wisconsin Dual: Earned sixth in the 50 free finals (20.87)... St. Thomas/South Dakota State Tri-Dual: Earned first in the 100 free (45.96) and second in the 50 free (20.75)... SMU Dual: Finished fifth in 50 free (20.51)... Nebraska/South Dakota: Made his collegiate debut by competing in the 50 free for fifth (20.92).
Prep: Swam at the Maadi Club in Cairo, Egypt ⢠holds three National age group records ⢠participated in the 50 free finals at the 2022 Winter Juniors.
Personal: Son of Sherif Abdelwahab and Walaa Fathy ⢠has one brother, Anas ⢠hobbies include playing video games and surfing.
Why Minnesota?Ā I chose the University because of its experienced coaches, strong team spirit, and excellent facilities. Additionally, I was drawn to the opportunity to study at such a highly regarded school.
