Ward joined the Gophers coaching staff in the summer of 2017. Ward comes to Minnesota after two seasons with the Penn Quakers men’s program where he was an assistant coach. Ward had previously served at Georgetown at his alma mater as a volunteer assistant in 2012 and as a full-time assistant role in 2013.

In addition to his coaching at Georgetown, Ward worked as the Tournament Director for the Georgetown Classic men’s and women’s fall tournament. He also worked as an assistant director in Georgetown’s Athletic Events department, serving as a liaison with visiting teams and coordinating all aspects of home events for women’s basketball and softball. 

At Georgetown, during the 2012-13 season, the women’s program achieved a national ranking for the first time in school history. In his three years as an assistant with the Georgetown men’s team, Ward helped guide the Hoyas to 29 wins, including a 12-9 record during the 2012-13 season. 

Ward transferred to Georgetown after he started his collegiate career at Creighton where he twice was a letterwinner and earned a pair of ITA Scholar Athlete awards. 

Ward graduated cum laude from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business in 2012 with a degree in business administration. While with the Hoyas, Ward was a twice named to the Big East All-Academic team, and was a two-time letterwinner. In 2014, Ward obtained his Master’s Degree from Georgetown in Sports Industry Management.
