Chris Dardanes joined the University of Minnesota wrestling staff as an administrative assistant for the 2015-16 after the most successful season of his collegiate career as a senior.
Dardanes spent a majority of his senior season as the nation’s top-ranked wrestler at 133 pounds, a ranking buoyed by a 26-0 start to the season that included an unblemished regular season record. Dardanes’ 26-match winning streak is tied for the 16th-longest in program history.Â
Dardanes was a four-year for the Gophers and a three-time All-American, placing fourth in 2012 and 2015 and sixth in 2013. With his three All-America medals, Dardanes is in an elite class of just 25 Gophers to All-American at least three times during his Minnesota career. He is one of 44 Gophers to record at least 100 career victories (101).
