Competed in six open tournaments and placed in all but his first event • Earned his first career fall during the Bison Open when he pinned Marcus Bausman early in the third period, a victory that set off a six-victory run to finish third in the tournament • Mirrored that performance in the Luther Open, where he dropped his second match but rattled off six straight wins to finish third • Won his first collegiate title at the Worthington Open, highlighted by a 13-3 major decision over Zach Revier (Ridgewater College) in the semifinals • Won his second title at the North Country Open, sharing the crown with teammate Dylan Urbach when the two double-defaulted the championships match • Won 20 of his last 22 matches on the season
