Started 2007-08 campaign out on the right foot with an individual title at the Bison Open (11/1) Pinned first three opponents at Bison Open before decisioning teammate Tyler Safratowich in the championship match by a 5-3 score Went 4-2 on his way to a fifth place finish at Kaufman-Brand Open (11/17) Showed an ability to win close matches as three of his four victories at the Kaufman-Brand came by a single point helped deliver pair of dual meet wins for the Gophers at Northern Quad when with 6-2 decision victory over Northern Illinois[apos] Bryan Deutsch and a 11-0 major decision against NDSU[apos]s Michael Quamme (11/24) Was also the Gophers[apos] starter at 165 lbs. in duals against Iowa State (12/2), Nebraska (12/6), Cal State-Fullerton (12/8) and Cal Poly (12/8) Won his first three matches at Southern Scuffle before withdrawing with an injury Finished season with four straight victories on his way to the 165 lb. title at North Country Open.
2006-07 REDSHIRTED:
Put together outstanding redshirt campaign, finishing with a 17-2 overall record in four competitions won first 13 matches before falling to Mitch Norton of Upper Iowa took first place at 165 pounds in both Bison Open (11/11) and Kaufman-Brand Open (11/18), going undefeated in 10 matches brought home third place finish at Husky Open (12/9), compiling a 5-1 record also competed at Southern Scuffle (12/29-12/30), going 2-2 finished year with four pins and five major decisions.
HIGH SCHOOL:
A 2006 graduate of Bismarck High School coaches were Scott Knowlen and Jeff Schumacher five-time North Dakota state champion, the only Class A wrestler to accomplish that feat 2006 Class A Wrestler of the Year compiled a 204-23 career record, including 69 straight victories helped the Demons win seven consecutive dual team state titles Wrestling USA All-American finished second at the 2006 Junior Freestyle Nationals.
