Competed in five open tournaments during the season • Wrestled in the championship match in three different tournaments • Finished second in his first career tournament, the Daktronics Open, dropping the title match to teammate Steve Polakowski • Posted second consecutive runner-up finish by placing second at Bison Open, dropping the championships match to teammate Sam Brancale • Began Bison Open with his first career fall, a pin at 35 seconds to defeat Anthony Battle (Minot State) • Began Luther Open with another lightning-fast pin, at 36 seconds, against Cody Hanson (Luther) • Won title at the Wisconsin Open by defeating teammate Ethan Lizak in the finals • Competed in the prestigious Midlands tournament, winning his opening match with a first-period pin of Shayne Wireman (Eastern Michigan).
