MINNESOTA MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD HIRES NEW ASSISTANT COACH

UniveThe University of Minnesota men's track and field team has announced that Mario Sategna has been hired as an assistant coach in the throws area.
Sategna comes to Minnesota from Wichita State University where he coached the throws during the 1998 season, where he had a freshman qualify in the javelin for the NCAA Championships.
Prior to his term with the Shockers, he was a volunteer coach at Louisiana State University during the 1996-97 season.
Sategna was a former NCAA Champion in the decathlon at Louisiana State and was also an Olympic Trials qualifier in 1996. He holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from LSU.
