MANKAD LOSES IN QUARTERFINALS OF BIG TEN SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS

thUniversity of Minnesota freshman Harsh Mankad lost to No. 1-seed Tyler Cleveland of Iowa in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Singles Championships this afternoon in East Lansing, Mich. The final score of the match was 6-2, 6-3. Cleveland went on to beat Chris Porter of Ohio State 6-3, 6-3 in the semifinals and then beat Matt Wright of Michigan 7-5, 6-4 to win the Big Ten Singles title.
The men's tennis teamwill host the Ice Volleys Tournament this weekend, Friday-Saturday at the 98th Street Racquet Club in Bloomington, Minn. Minnesota will play New Mexico at 6 p.m., while Notre Dame and Washington will play eachother also at 6 p.m. Saturday's matches will begin at 6 p.m. also.
