MEN'S TENNIS TEAM WINS ICE VOLLEYS TITLE

At No. 1 singles, freshman Harsh Mankad defeated Matt Hanlin 6-1, 6-4 to start the Golden Gophers off to a winning start. At No. 2 singles junior Jorge Duenas topped Andy Posovac 7-5, 6-3. Also winning was senior captain Martin Michalowski, with a 6-3, 6-2 score over Jeremy Berman at No.3 singles. Junior Tyson Parry was the other Golden Gopher to win with a 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 victory over Dillon Ruby at No. 5 singles.
Minnesota also won two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point to defeat Washington 5-2. Winning in doubles late was Parry and Michalowski at the No. 1 position with a close 9-8 score in a tiebreaker over Ari Strasberg and Nicholas Quatrochi.
