Purdue shot over 50 percent from the field in both halves to finish with an efficient 51.0 percent field goal percentage. All-America candidate Katie Douglas led the Boilermakers shooting 8-of-10 from the floor and a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line to total a game-high 25 points, 17 of which came in the second half.
The Gophers struggled offensively, connecting on 35.3 percent of their shots. Cassie VanderHeyden was the only player from Minnesota to tally double figures with 15. She also collected a career-high seven steals in the loss.
The Boilermakers held a 30-23 lead at the half, then used a 13-5 run to start the second half to build a double-digit lead. Two Douglas free throws with 1:05 left gave Purdue its biggest lead of the game, 21 points, at 69-48.
Minnesota's next game is Sunday, Jan. 30, when the Gophers travel to Michigan. The game will be televised by MSC live at noon. WDGY 630 AM will carry the radio broadcast.
