MEN'S TENNIS TEAM COMPETES AT MILWAUKEE TENNIS CLASSIC

Harsh Mankad, but lost his quarterfinal match to Antonio Gordon of Texas Christian University 7-5, 6-4.

Mankad also teamed up with senior Martin Michalowski in doubles. The team advanced to the quarterfinals as well before they lost to Ben Miles and Chris Lewis of California, 6-3, 7-6 (5).

Four Golden Gopher advanced to the second round before dropping out of the brackets. Junior Tyson Parry, the eighth-seeded player, defeated Andreas Morfiadakis of DePaul 6-2, 6-1. He then met Christiaan Thall of South Alabama and lost 6-0, 6-2. Michalowski defeated Vincent Baudat of South Alabama 6-3, 6-4 in the first round before dropping out with a loss to No. 4-seeded Chris Sands of UCLA 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-1.

Freshman Nate McLain also lost in the second round. McLain defeated Peter Rebsamen of South Alabama 6-3, 7-6 (5) and then went on to lose to Andy Crews of Tennessee 7-5, 7-5.Sophomore Karl Sloss defeated Tony Daharsh of UW- Oskosh in the first round 6-1, 6- 2 before losing to the third seed Adam Carey of Tennessee 6-2, 6-0 in the second round.

Freshman Eric Robertson also competed for the Golden Gophers. Roberston met 11th-seeded Eric Jackson of North Carolina State in the first round. Jackson defeated Robertson 6-3, 6-3.
