Minnesota sophomore Megan Stier was named to the National Golf Coaches Association's All-Scholar Team for the 1999-2000 season.

The NGCA recognizes student-athletes who are outstanding in both academics and competitive golf at the collegiate level. Stier, a native of Belle Plaine, Minn., is an accounting major with a 3.41 GPA. She played in all 11 of Minnesota's tournaments during the 1999-2000 season. Stier tied for first place at the Minnesota Invitational in September but lost medalist honors to Eastern Michigan's Stephanie Smoot after six playoff holes. She set personal-bests for 18-hole score with 73 and three- round score with 226 at the Minnesota Invitational. During the fall season, she had a stroke average of 79.0 and finished the year with an 80.0 average.
