ZHARINOV DROPS SECOND-ROUND MATCH AT ALL-AMERICAN TOURNAMENT

All-AmerSophomore men's tennis player Aleksey Zharinov was defeated by eighth-seeded Oliver Maiberger of San Diego State in the second round of the All-American Tournament in Atlanta, Ga. He dropped a straight-set decision by the score of 6-1, 6-3.

Zharinov advanced to the second round earlier this morning with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 over Rice's Richard Barker.

Earlier in the day, fellow Golden Gopher Thomas Haug was defeated in the straight sets. He will compete in the consolation bracket and will face Wade Orr from Tennessee this afternoon.
