UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA MEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS CLEMSON 4-1

The University of Minnesota men's tennis team defeated Clemson 4-1 this morning at the Blue-Gray Classic in Montgomery, Ala. The Golden Gophers will face the winner of Wake Forest and Tulane on Saturday afternoon.

Minnesota won three of the four singles matches that were completed. Harsh Mankad defeated the Tigers' Marko Gojanovic, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. Also posting victories for Minnesota were Jon Svensson and Eric Robertson.

The Golden Gophers captured the doubles point with a pair of victories. Svensson and Robertson were victorious at No. 2 doubles with an 8-5 decision over Gojanovic and Kevin Gottfried. Karl Sloss and Aleksey Zharinov earned an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.
