FOUR GOLDEN GOPHERS EARN ALL-AMERICA HONORS

Mitch Potter, Andy Wohlin, Mikael Jakobsson and Tom Gerding) took fifth place. Tom Gerding won his second All-America award of the season with a sixth place finish in the 400m dash.
The relay finished in three minutes, 5.90 seconds at Hayward Field in Eugen, Ore. Gerding ran a 46.09 for the third All-America distinction in his career as Golden Gopher.
The Baylor Bears won the 4x400m relay and Avard Moncur of Auburn was the 400m champion.
Minnesota finished the meet in 30th place as a team. Tennessee edged out TCU by one point for the 2001 men's team title.
