Wettengel Advances at ITA All-American Championship

CJunior Chris Wettengel advanced to the quarterfinals of the pre-qualifying bracket at the ITA All-American Championship in Chattanooga, Tenn. The doubles team of Manuel Lievano and Clay Estes also advanced to the quarterfinals.

Wettengel defeated Florida State's Romain Jurd, 6-4, 7-6 (3) and will face BenediktDorschof Baylor on Monday. Lievano was defeated in the Round of 16 by New Mexico's Bart Scott, 6-3, 6-4.

In the pre-qualifying doubles bracket, Lievano and Estes won a pair of matches to reach the quarterfinals. They defeated Reshard Kelluci and Patrick Phillips of Coppin State, 8-1, and then ousted Ryan Rizza and Michael Duquette of Virginia, 8-5. The pair will next face Fabrizio Sestini and Daniel Scholten of TCU on Monday.
