Women Swimmers Improve Upon Ranks at NCAA Championships

Juniors Dana Baum and Keri Hehn both swam finished higher than their incoming ranks in day two of the NCAA Championships at Austin, Texas.

Hehn, who was ranked 19th in the 100-yard breaststroke headed into today's event, finished 17th with a career best time of 1:01.96. Her time was the second fastest time in school history and placed her as the first alternate for the event finals.

Baum, who already earned All-American honors at the meet, finished 19th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.89. Baum improved upon her 20th ranking headed into the meet.

The Gophers wrap-up the NCAA Championships tomorrow, March 23 when they compete in the 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke and platform diving competitions
