Men's Tennis Falls to Purdue 4-3

matches.The No. 20 ranked University of Minnesota Men's tennis team fell to the Purdue Boilermakers 4-3 on Saturday afternoon. The Gophers earned their only three points in the No. 1, 4 and 5 singles matches. Junior Thomas Haug won the No. 1 singles match 6-3, 1-6, 7-5. Manuel Lievano won at No. 4 singles (6-3, 6-4) and Avery Ticer, at No. 5 (5-7, 6-3, 6-0), capturing Minnesota's other two points.

The Gophers dropped the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches, which clinched the win for Purdue. But, Avery Ticer and Aleksey Zharinov were able to win the No. 3 doubles match (7-6).

The Gophers were playing without the No. 1 ranked player, Harsh Mankad, who is playing for India's Davis Cup team.
