Golden Gopher Men's Tennis Defeats Indiana Hoosiers 6-1

The Maroon and Gold were able to seize the doubles point with two victories. Manuel Lievano and Reven Stephens won the No. 2 spot 8-6, while Avery Ticer and Aleksey Zharinov took the No. 3 spot with a 8-3 win.
Junior Thomas Haug was able to rally and win the No. 1 singles match 4-6, 6-0, 6-4. The No. 2, 3 and 4 singles wins were in straight sets as Zharinov, Lievano and Chris Wettengel each earned victories. Ticer defeated Indiana's Ryan Recht 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 to win the No. 5 singles match.
The Golden Gophers currently hold an 11-5 record. They will host Northwestern Friday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. and Illinois Saturday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the 98th Street Racquet Club in Bloomington, Minn.
