Golden Gopher Men's Tennis Defeats Wisconsin 6-1

dThe University of Minnesota Men's Tennis Team defeated Wisconsin, 6- 1, on Sunday afternoon in Madison, Wis. The Golden Gophers improve to 6-1 in the Big Ten and 15-3 overall.

After dropping the doubles point, Minnesota claimed six straight singles victories to seal the win.

Aleksey Zharinov won at No. 1 singles in straight sets over Alexander Kasarov, 7-6, 6-2, while Thomas Haug breezed past David Hippee at No. 2, 6-3, 6-1.

Chris Wettengel, Avery Ticer, Clay Estes and Eric Robertson also posted wins in singles for the Golden Gophers.

Minnesota will host Indiana next Sunday in its final home dual match of the season, before closing out against Ohio State and Penn State on the road, April 19-20.
