Ten Golden Gopher Swimmers Head to U.S. Olympic Trials

tThe University of Minnesota men's and women's swim teams will be well represented at the U.S. Olympic Trials, July 7-14 in Long Beach, Calif. The Golden Gopher men's squad will have eight members at the U.S. Trials, while two hail from the women's program. Of the eight men's swimmers, four were members of the 2004 Big Ten championship team. Leading the Gopher pack are Adam Mitchell, Justin Mortimer and Terry Silkaitis, who qualified in three trial events.

Keri Hehn will swim in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, while Juleen Rodakowski will compete in the 200 butterfly.

The meet format will include competition with a morning and evening session each of the eight days. NBC Television will broadcast the event on July 9 (Live): 8-9 p.m. (ET), July 11 (Live): 8-9 p.m. (ET) and July 18 (Taped): 1-3 p.m. (ET).
