No. 64 Indiana Upsets No. 38 Minnesota, 5-2

The Hoosiers (15-8, 4-4) opened the dual with two close doubles wins to gain the early 1 -0 lead. After Minnesota's Adrien Debreyne and Raoul Schwark downed Dmytro Ishtuganov and Dara McLoughlin, 8-2, at No. 1, Indiana edged UM at Nos. 2 and 3 for the doubles point. At No. 2, Peter Antons and David Bubenicek prevailed, 9-8, in a tiebreaker over Andres Osorio and Sion Wilkins, while Neil Kenner and Michael McCarthy defeated Nic Edlefsen and D.J. Geatz, 8-2, at No. 3. With their loss, Edlefsen and Geatz saw their five- match winning streak come to a close.
The Golden Gophers attempted its comeback in singles play, but Indiana split the six matches to gain the upset win. Minnesota knotted the dual at 1-1 with Osorio's 6-0, 6-1 win over Bubenicek at No. 2, only to see the Hoosiers re-gain the lead with wins at Nos. 1 and 3. At No. 1, Ishtuganov posted a significant upset with his 6-3, 6-3 victory over 59th- ranked Geatz.
The dual came down to Nos. 4-6, where all three matches went three sets. At No. 4, Debreyne improved to 6-1 in the Big Ten with his 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 win over McCarthy. The Hoosiers clinched the team win at No. 5 with Arnaud Roussel's 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Schwark. IU wrapped up the afternoon with with Mak Kendall's 7-5, 4-6, 4-6 victory over Sion Wilkins at No. 6
Minnesota wraps up the regular season next weekend at Illinois and Purdue before returning home to host the 2006 Big Ten Championship on April 27-30.
