Eight track & field athletes, current or past members of Golden Gopher teams, will be competing this weekend (June 22-25) at the 2006 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Indianapolis. ESPN2 will provide coverage of the meet on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. (CT) and on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. (CT).

Three All-Americans from the 2006 Minnesota men’s team highlight the Golden Gopher contingent in Indy. Karl Erickson, who finished his Minnesota track career this spring as a seven-time All-American, will compete in the shot put on Friday and the discus on Sunday. Aaron Buzard, who will be a senior for the Gophers in 2007, is entered the 400-meter dash and Trent Riter, a senior in 2006, will compete in the 800-meter. The first-round races of both the 400 and 800 meters will be run on Thursday.

Two Big Ten champions from the Minnesota women’s team are entered in throwing events. Ruby Radocaj will compete in the javelin on Thursday, while Liz Podominick will throw the shot put on Sunday.

A trio of former Golden Gopher All-Americans are included among the entrants for the USA Championships: Mitch Potter (400 meters), Shani Marks (triple jump) and Andrew Carlson (5,000 meters).
