Ohio State’s Justin Kronauge had a perfect weekend, taking home the singles and doubles titles at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional at the Baseline Tennis Center on Monday.

No Minnesota players advanced to the final day of the tournament with senior Raul Schwark posting the team’s highest finish with a quarterfinal appearance in the 64-player singles draw.

Kronauge was seeded 13th in the singles event and won the individual title by injury default over third-seeded Ryan Rowe of Illinois. Both players will advance to the ITA national meet along with the finalists from the seven other regions on Nov. 1-4 in Columbus, Ohio. Kronauge advanced to the finals with a win over teammate Bryan Koniecko 7-5, 7-5 earlier on Monday.

In doubles, Kronauge and Drew Eberly were the top seeds and earned the title with an 8-5 win in the finals over 12th-seeded Jason Jung and Mike Scroczynski. Kronauge and Eberly had hard-fought semifinal win earlier in the day, beating Rowe and Billy Heiser of Illinois in a tiebreaker 9-8. Kronauge and Eberly advance to the doubles event at the ITA national tournament on their home courts.
