Gophers Sign Three to National Letters of Intent

The University of Minnesota Women’s Golf team announced today that Jackie Shepherd, Tori Stock, and Jacki Marshall have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Gophers. All three players will be eligible to compete during the 2009 fall season.
Shepherd comes to Minnesota from Delafield, Wis. While competing at Kettle Moraine High School, Shepherd was an All-State Team Member from 2006-2008. In that span, Shepherd won the BCH Invite with a two day total of 139. While earning Classic Eight Conference Player of the Year, Shepard finished her senior season with three top ten finishes in the AJGA.
Stock hails from Woodstock, Ill. where she attended Marian Central Catholic High School. Coming to Minnesota as a three time state qualifier, Stock was also the four time winner of the McHenry County Tournament. Stock placed 13th in state as a junior and 17th as a senior while finishing high school as a two time regional champion,
Marshall joins the Gophers from Carindale, Queensland in Australia. Competing at Cavendish Road State High School, she posted an impressive resume throughout her high school career. Qualifying for the Greg Norman Masters eight times, Marshall won the B and D Junior District Championships her senior season.
Additionally, Marshall placed fifth at the Australian Under-18 Strokeplay Championships. Also, Marshall earned the 2008 Golf Australia Gatehouse Award, an award based on individual achievement and character.
