Men's Tennis Splits Home Matches

Minnesota rolled to an easy win over Wisconsin-Green Bay in the morning and then suffered a 4-3 setback to Oklahoma later in the day in a pair of men's tennis matches on Saturday at the Baseline Tennis Center.
The Gophers are now 1-3 for the season and play another home match on Sunday when they host Drake at 1 p.m.
Minnesota played four three-set matches during the day and won all four in a third-set super tiebreaker. Sebastian Gallego won super tiebreakers in each match, while Derek Peterson added a win against Wisconsin-Green Bay and Dino Bilankov posted a win over Oklahoma.
The Gophers swept all three doubles matches against Wisconsin-Green Bay with Raoul Schwark and Chi Pham winning 8-4 at No. 1, Bilankov and Peterson claiming a 9-8 win at No. 2 and Gallego and Adam Altepeter prevailing 8-3 at No. 3.
Four of Minnesota's singles matches against the Phoenix were won in straight sets as Bilankov won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2, Dumas won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3, Pham earned a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 4 and Altepeter captured a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 5.
Oklahoma and Minnesota split their six singles matches, but the Sooners swept all three doubles matches, including tiebreakers at No. 2 and No. 3 to earn the decisive team point.
In addition to Bilankov and Gallego, Minnesota also picked up a straight-sets singles win from Pierre Dumas at No. 5 by a score of 6-3, 6-4.
