Minnesota Falls to Another Ranked Foe at Boise State

Sebastian Gallego posted Minnesota's lone victory as the Gopher men's tennis team fell to another ranked opponent with a 6-1 setback at Boise State on Saturday in Boise, Idaho.
The Gophers, ranked 67th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, fell to 1-9 overall. Boise State became the ninth different ranked team to beat Minnesota this season as the 41st-ranked Broncos ran their record to 7-8 overall.
Gallego won his No. 3 singles contest in straight sets by a 7-5, 7-5 score. All of Minnesota's losses also came in straight sets, including two losses to ranked opponents at the top two singles flights. Raoul Schwark lost to 64th-ranked Luke Shields 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 and Dino Bilankov 6-3, 6-1 fell to 60th-ranked Clancy Shields at No. 2. Pierre Dumas played a tight match at No. 4 singles with a 6-4, 7-5 loss.
Minnesota dropped all three doubles contests with Bilankov and Gallego battling to a tiebreaker in their loss at No. 2.
The Gophers will remain in Boise and face 38th-ranked William & Mary on Sunday.
