Minnesota’s Aaron Studt will compete on Sunday (June 28) in the shot put at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at the historic Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Ore. The USA Championships run from June 25-28.

Studt, a Ripon, Wis., native, captured All-America honors at both the NCAA indoor (second place) and outdoor (fifth place) championships in the 2009 season. The Golden Gopher junior also won two shot put crowns in helping Minnesota to team titles at both the Big Ten indoor and outdoor championships.  Studt’s career-best throw is 63 feet, 2 3/4 inches, his effort at the NCAA outdoor meet two weeks ago.

The top three finishers at the USA Championships will represent the U.S. at the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany, this August.
