Varsity Eight Competes at Princeton Chase

The University of Minnesota rowing team split its squad as the First Varsity Eight headed to the Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J. The Golden Gophers finished 10th overall out of 45 entries.

Competing in a three-mile race on Lake Carnegie, the Golden Gophers had Linnea Trandem as coxswain, Tracy Merth, Erika Berg, Cassie Drozynski, Kathryn Switalski, Krystal Arbery, Molly Kalmoe, Rachel Sartor and Teresa Logemann. The group finished with a split time of 8:29.109. Princeton A won the event in a time of 8:03.648, while Virginia A was second in 8:09.008 and Dartmouth A was third in 8:21.779.

The Gophers will take time off and train for the championship season, starting in March.
