Sonnenberg Lone Gopher Heading to NCAA Indoor Meet

Senior pole vaulter Samantha Sonnenberg is Minnesota’s lone competitor for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in College Station, Texas, this weekend. The NCAA announced its field of competitors for the meet for the Championships hosted by Texas A&M on Friday-Saturday, March 11-12.

Sonnenberg is a returning All-American who will make her second NCAA Championships appearance. She is seeded in a tie for 12th with a season-best vault of 13 feet, 11 1/4 inches.

The 2011 Big Ten champion, Sonnenberg cleared a career-best of 14-1 1/4 to place seventh and capture All-America honors at last season’s NCAA Indoor Championships.
