U.S. Nationals Wrap Up

Several Golden Gophers continued to see action over the final two days of the ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships. Derek Toomey, who won the 'C' final in the 50-meter freestyle, made another 'C' final Friday. He finished 28th in the 100 free (51.17).

Other Gopher finishers on Friday and Saturday included Zach Bolin (t-79th) and Nathan Jobe (131st) in the 100 free; Matt Benecki (60th) in the 1,500 free; and Josh Hall (58th) and Jared Anderson (89th) in the 200 breaststroke. Minnesota's 15th-place 4x200-meter free relay team members were Matt Papenfuss, Mike Vernoia, Bolin, and Kyler Van Swol. The 17th-place 4x100 medley relay was comprised of Bolin, Hall, Van Swol, and Vernoia.
