Final Stats

DULUTH, Minn. - The No. 1 Minnesota women's hockey team scored three third-period goals to skate to a 4-0 win over No. 7 Minnesota Duluth at AMSOIL Arena Friday night.

Four different Gophers scored goals as Minnesota (5-0-0, 3-0-0 WCHA) kept its 54-game winning streak alive and improved to 5-0-0 on the year. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs (2-2-1, 0-2-1-0 WCHA) are still chasing their first Western Collegiate Hockey Association victory of the season.

Sophomore Amanda Leveille (Kingston, Ont.) made 26 saves in her second-straight shutout. She is now riding 168:57 scoreless minutes after last surrendering a goal at the 11:03 mark of the first period against Wisconsin on Oct. 11.

Junior Meghan Lorence (Mounds View, Minn.) tallied two points on a goal and an assist, and senior Sarah Davis (Paradise, N.L.), freshman Dani Cameranesi (Plymouth, Minn.) and junior Rachael Bona (Coon Rapids, Minn.) each added goals as all three of Minnesota's lines contributed to the scoring.

Davis netted the game-winning goal at the 15-minute mark of the first period. Fellow senior Bethany Brausen (Roseville, Minn.) found Davis on a centering pass, and Davis fired the puck past UMD goaltender Kayla Black.

The teams skated to a scoreless second period before the Gophers punched in three third-period tallies.

Lorence gave the Gophers a 2-0 lead just nine seconds into the third period. She broke into the UMD zone off the opening face-off and fired a quick shot from the slot. The initial shot hit the pipe, but Lorence buried her own rebound.

Cameranesi and Bona added goals at 10:44 and 14:39, respectively, to seal the Gopher victory as Minnesota outshot UMD, 40-26, for the game. The Gophers held the Bulldogs scoreless on two power-play opportunities while also going 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

The Gophers and Bulldogs wrap up the series at 6:07 p.m. Saturday night. Fans can follow the action with the Gopher women's hockey game day live blog, along with free live stats and audio. UMD is offering a subscription video stream online as well.
