A junior on the Minnesota Wrestling squad, Kevin Steinhaus has been named to the 2012-13 CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Steinhaus, who competes at 184 lbs. for the Maroon and Gold, has already made his mark as one of the most dominant wrestlers in Minnesota program history. In four years with the program, he has amassed a 117-25 overall record, including an impressive 29-4 mark during the 2012-13 season. A two-time All-American and three-time NCAA qualifier, Steinhaus went an unblemished 18-0 through this year's dual schedule and, for the second year in a row, marked an undefeated slate (8-0) in regular season conference action. On the season, Steinhaus totaled three pins, nine major decisions, and five technical falls.

Majoring in Kinesiology, Steinhaus has earned a 3.40 cumulative GPA in his college career. He has been recognized by conference officials, earning Academic All-Big Ten recognition in 2012 and 2013.

Academic All-District awards are given to honorees that excel both in the classroom and on the competition platform. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
