In the latest installment of an annual tradition, J Robinson and the University of Minnesota wrestling team will host a coaches clinic this fall. The 2014 event will take place on Friday, October 24 at the Bierman Field Athletic Building in Minneapolis.

The clinic offers youth coaches professional instruction and best practices on the fundamentals and techniques of coaching wrestling. Attendance is open to all who are interested in participating.

The year's instructors include David Thorn and 2008 Olympians Jake Deitchler and Andy Hrovat. Combined, these three own multiple Junior National Championships, nine high school state championships and five NCAA All-American honors. Presently, Thorn is an assistant with the Gopher Wrestling program, Hrovat coaches the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club and Deitchler owns the Takedown Gym.

Registration for the clinic will begin at noon on Oct. 24, followed by a welcome and introduction from Coach Robinson at 12:45. Hrovat, Thorn and Deitchler will all address the group on training and teaching technique, and the Gopher Wrestling team will participate in a live practice. Following the scheduled portion of the one-day event, a social will be held at Blarney's Pub and Grill in Dinkytown.

Registration is now open for a fee of $100 ($115 if received after Oct. 22). Limited hotel rooms at the Radisson Hotel in Roseville, Minn., are available at a discount until Oct. 6 for out-of-town attendees.

Those interested in attending the clinic can register by printing off the attached form and sending it to Jayson Ness at P.O. Box 14235, Minneapolis, MN 55414. For additional information, contact Jayson at nessx174@umn.edu.
